Introducing Fiction Factory Author Visits & Workshops, an interactive author visit experience designed specifically for middle school students.

Cynthia Barbera is a Boston–based author who writes middle-grade and young adult science fiction filled with mystery, adventure, and the thrill of the unknown. Inspired by classic UFO lore, unexplained phenomena, and the power of imagination, she creates stories that encourage readers to stay curious, ask bold questions, and believe that extraordinary discoveries may be hiding in plain sight. Her novels, Secrets from the Sky and Henry and the Aliens, combine suspense, friendship, and unforgettable adventures that captivate young readers. When she's not writing, Cynthia enjoys inspiring future storytellers through creative writing and a lifelong love of books.
During our visit students don’t just listen - they actively participate, write, and share. By the end of the visit, they walk away with a Young Author Certificate and, more importantly, a stronger belief that their ideas matter, and they can write!
