Secrets from the Sky

Secrets from the Sky opens The Youngest Arrivals series. It is also the book the school assembly is built around: students hear where the idea came from, what changed on the way to the finished draft, and what the writer got wrong first.

For a school, that makes the book useful before the visit as well as after it. Classes that have read it arrive with questions. Classes that have not still follow the assembly, because the talk is about how a story gets made rather than about the plot.
